Sachs Properties, the developer of Chesterfield Village, is building the new Downtown Chesterfield. Located at Chesterfield Parkway West and Interstate 64, this development will be adjacent to the 40-acre Central Park, Chesterfield Mall, St. Louis County Library, YMCA, and future restaurants and buildings. Downtown will feature two large lakes and walking trails throughout, connected through a unique park system all the way to the Chesterfield levee.
Phase I of Downtown Chesterfield features two office buildings and four freestanding buildings for retail users and restaurants. Central Park Square I, the first of the office buildings designed by world-renowned architect Hellmuth, Obata and Kasebaum, was completed in 2008. It‘s 100,000 square feet of Class “A” space on five floors is 98% leased. Central Park Square II, a 150,000 sq. ft. office building on six floors is currently in the final stages of design. The two buildings surround the recently completed one-acre sculpture park that features J. Seward Johnson’s The Awakening. This 70-foot-long, 17-foot-high sculpture of a giant rising from the ground was installed in the Fall of 2009. In addition, work will begin soon on the four retail buildings comprising 25,000 sq. ft. These buildings are designed for a myriad of retail users and freestanding restaurants, with interiors able to be modified for any tenant. Phase I Site Plan
Located just north of Phase I, Downtown Chesterfield Phase II will be a 150-acre mixed-use “town center” development featuring retail stores and shops, office and creative space, public gathering areas, entertainment venues, restaurants, cultural amenities, and residences, all built around an 18-acre lake with walking paths, a boathouse and fishing. Now in the planning stages, Phase II will be the first of its kind development in the St. Louis region, and is sure to draw visitors and residents from the Midwest and beyond.
